There is no cost for Apple Pay from State Street Bank. An active data plan is required on your device. Based on your wireless plan and mobile carrier's offering, additional message and data charges may apply. Your debit card Deposit Account Agreement will apply for purchases. State Street Bank does not charge any fees to add your cards to Apple Pay.
Apple Pay is currently accepted in over a million major retailers. You can also use Apple Pay to pay in some of the most popular apps in the App Store. Look for the contactless pay symbol or Apple Pay logo at check out.
Apple Pay uses Near Field Communication (NFC) which is a short-range wireless technology that allows two devices to exchange payment information at close proximity. Apple Pay uses NFC technology to transmit payment information from your phone to the contactless payment terminal. Your State Street Bank card number is never shared with the merchant and is not stored on the device. Instead, a Device Account Number is used to process your payment which further protects your personal information.

Apple Pay displays the time or date of the last State Street Bank card purchase you made within the Wallet on your iPhone, but it won't display all your purchase details. For a complete view of all your SSB debit transactions, sign in to Online Banking or use our Mobile Banking App and select the appropriate account. For credit card transactions, log into MyCardStatement.com for transaction information.
While we hope your phone is never lost or stolen, it's a good idea to download Apple's Find My iPhone app before that happens. You can use the app to quickly place your device in Lost Mode so your information is not accessible, or you can remotely erase your iPhone. Please note: Find My iPhone must be enabled in iCloud settings on your device before you can locate it with this app.
If you can't download the Find my iPhone app or can't disable Apple Pay using your iCloud account from another device, please call the bank immediately, 217-223-6480. You should also review your Online & Mobile Banking transactions. If you notice any suspicious activity, please contact us immediately by calling the number on the back of your card.
Erasing the information on your iPhone will have no effect on your physical cards. You can continue to use your cards as you normally would. Erasing your iPhone will delete the virtual cards from Apple Pay and they can no longer be used. You can add your card back into Apple Pay at any time.
