We are excited to announce we are bringing back the Socktober Sock Drive, benefitting the children of the Early Childhood and Family Center (ECFC). The Sock Drive is a month-long community event collecting new socks in any size for both girls and boys of all ages.
The Socktober Sock Drive was started a few years ago by State Street Bank to give back and help raise awareness of the need within our local community. To be able to provide new, clean socks to every child takes assistance from the whole community. With that goal in mind, State Street Bank will collect new, unused socks at every location all month long. Donations will be presented to the ECFC in November.
Socks are the most needed and the least donated item of clothing. While clothing is often donated to shelters and other non-profit organizations, socks are rarely included. Additionally, many organizations don’t accept gently used socks, so the need continues to grow.
“We continue to collect more socks every year, and we’re honored to be a part of such a worthwhile drive. The children appreciate the simple gift of fresh, new socks.” Said Mike Mahair, President of State Street Bank.
All sizes, colors, and textures are welcome! Drop off new packages of socks at any Quincy State Street Bank branch. Want to give more? Other suggested donations:
Underwear (size 3T-7/8)
Winter Gloves & Mittens
